Tackling homelessness with Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity

The Greater Manchester Mayor’s charity is an independent charity that believes homelessness has no place here in Greater Manchester. Sunny Thinking was honoured to be chosen to design their new website.
Working with businesses, people and communities, the charity brings Greater Manchester together to raise essential funds for vital work. The money raised supports innovative initiatives and makes a tangible difference in the efforts to reduce and prevent homelessness across Greater Manchester.
Back in 2017, Andy Burnham pledged to achieve change for the vast numbers of people rough sleeping across the city-region. He was elected that May and ever since, the Mayor of Greater Manchester has donated 15% of his salary to this cause. The Charity was then established in 2018 and since that day has raised nearly £3m and supported over 160 organisations.
The future holds new challenges however as the charity seeks to broaden its reach and impact. Sunny Thinking was subsequently commissioned to design and build a new website to help them share their story and raise more funds and gain new support.
Built in Craft CMS, we have created a new fully responsive website for the charity. It helps tell the story of the charity in terms of who they are, what they do and how they are helping tackling homelessness in Greater Manchester. It explains their continued work in terms of emergency response, investing in places and spaces, plus targeting prevention. Most importantly perhaps, the new site makes it even easier for people and businesses to help fundraise and donate.
Homelessness and rough sleeping remains a massive issue in Greater Manchester. The new website designed by Sunny Thinking will make a huge difference to us as a charity and help us tell our story and gain much needed support and funds.
