Designing healthy ideas for healthy breakfasts

Client Mornflake / Morning Foods
Requirement Branding, Creative Design and Marketing

We love a good hearty, healthy breakfast here @sunnythinkinghq and we love good old northern brands with a bit of heritage. That's why we enjoy working with Mornflake who have been milling oats in the South Cheshire countryside since 1675, making them the longest established miller of oats and cereal in the UK!

Mornflake Superfast Pots packaging design by Sunny Thinking

As an independent, family owned and marketing led business they have the ability to adapt quickly to consumer trends. That's why they came up with the clever idea of Superfast Pots to tap in to the growing number of people who skip breakfast at home and have it out and about or al desko!

Cereal advert design for Mornflake

Sunny Thinking was commissioned to help Mornflake launch a magical new product - the first ever on the go cereal pot that doesn't need milk as you just add water! The range comes in four flavours and we designed the clever packaging for them which includes lids and built in spoon, as well as outer packaging for the stores. To help launch the product in to Waitrose and other retailers, we also designed their adverts that are appearing in various consumer magazines and media.

We have worked on many other projects for Morning Foods, the parent company of Mornflake. One example was our work on Harvest Delight, their tertiary brand. Competing for shelf presence in discount stores, Morning Foods decided they wanted Sunny Thinking to overhaul their branding of Harvest Delight and the packaging style of their family of cereal products.

As cereal lovers particularly partial to our oats, trawling the cereal aisles and sampling different products proved a tasty bit of research to get the creative juices flowing! Our Sunny Thinking challenge was to develop a new packaging style and apply it to their range of porridge pots and sachets. As part of the process we updated the logo and then designed a new brand look that positioned the products as a delicious, healthy, wholesome and affordable breakfast.

When the packaging was launched it looked absolutely great. Thank you.
