Making a difference with health and social care branding and marketing

Making Space is a national charity and provider of health and social care services. Sunny Thinking worked closely with Making Space as their creative marketing team and we used our health marketing experience to develop their brand with a variety of ongoing marketing communications.
Making Space have evolved massively from their origins as a small mental health charity to a leading UK provider of health and social care services. Sunny Thinking created a new brand identity for Making Space that reflects them as caring, friendly, adaptable, diverse, fun, passionate and supportive.
We designed a new logo that was inspired by a petal – a positive symbol of prosperity, growth and development. It is made-up of three different coloured petals, representing the diverse people they work with and support, and the variety of services they deliver. As the petals come together they create a heart. This represents how they are stronger for their diversity and at the heart of everything they do is their shared ambition of making a difference to people’s lives.
As part of building their new visual identity, we created a ‘little brand book’ providing guidance for it’s application as well as designing a range of communications including a brand video, literature, website, promotions, signage, digital and email marketing, merchandise and much more.
The website we created for them was designed around the feedback received from the people Making Space support, their employees, their volunteers and their commissioners. Improved design and navigation, accessibility, search functionality and events calendars are some of the key improvements made to their content rich site. It is fully responsive and built with Craft CMS.
Every year Making Space also asked us to design their annual report to give an overview of how they are evolving and leading the way in the health and social care sector and supporting so many diverse people. It offers an insight in to their culture and success through key statistics, imagery, photography and copy. Our award-winning designs over the years helped illustrate the story of how they stay true to their values but grow and adapt in a changing world.
As part of developing their branding, Sunny Thinking was also challenged with creating marketing communications for their fundraising team. With the aim of fully supporting the new team's fundraising activities, we created a wide range of materials including a comprehensive guide to fundraising, promotional post cards, banner stands, email marketing, social media graphics and a new fundraising section to the website.
We are absolutely delighted with our new identity. Thank you so much for the insight, hard work and creativity developing our exciting new look. As ever, you have been wonderful to work with. We are truly thrilled to now have a brand that genuinely reflects the warm and caring nature of our organisation and that will help us grow over this next exciting period in our journey.
